About Bottlebush Berries...

The first field of strawberries were planted in the spring of 2012.  500 plants were hand dug into the ground by family members.  It seemed odd to cut the flowers off that summer, but it allowed the plants to dig in for the following season! The fall found us laying straw down on the plants and preparing for the winter.  The following spring brought a bountiful of berries ready for the picking. There were more berries than we could pick.  We had one more spring of picking before we decided to expand.

The next planting was bigger and better (we got ourselves a planter!) It was a hot day with a looming rain deadline. The 3000 plants were into the ground and ready for maintenance.  Can you say weeding, weeding and more weeding! The cooler weather couldn't come fast enough.  The straw was put down to cover the plants and the rest is history!
